Liftmaster Security
Liftmaster Security 3.0+
Security+ 3.0 is a modern encrypted radio-control system used by LiftMaster in many of their new garage door openers, remotes, and keypads. It is a secure, reliable, and long-way communication than the older systems by using the rolling-code encryption. Every time a remote or keypad is used, the opener and transmitter generate a new, unique code, preventing code grabbing or replay attacks.
Security+ 3.0 works only with compatible accessories such as newer LiftMaster remotes, wireless keypads, wall panels, and smart-control devices. It is also the radio system on many LiftMaster openers that have myQ technology, thereby, ensuring secure communication between the opener and the smart-access platform. Vehicles that come with updated HomeLink feature can also control Security+ 3.0 openers after they have been programmed.
The older remotes and universal transmitters that used 315 MHz or 390 MHz Security+ systems will not operate with Security+ 3.0 due to the encrypted protocol. This standard in upgrading mostly means additional remotes and keypads.
In conclusion, Security+ 3.0 provides a much higher level of protection against signals being intercepted, improved wireless performance, and is more compatible with LiftMasters' latest smart-garage ecosystem.
